Precision strikes – a guarantee of deterrence and success

“NATO considers the development of its Deep Precision Strike capabilities one of its most important tasks for the coming years” – this is how General Zsolt Sándor, Chief of HDF Defence Staff summed up the primary message of a symposium held with the participation of military leaders of the North Atlantic Alliance held in Mons, Belgium. In his opinion, the conclusions of the meeting are of key significance for the further operational planning and capability development tasks of the Hungarian Defence Forces.

Make-A-Wish: Kilometres for Hope

A charity sports event was held in Mons at NATO’s Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), with the participation of Hungarian soldiers and their family members. Donations totalling nearly HUF 22 million (approximately €62,000) were raised to support children battling with serious illnesses.

Joint run in honor of Polish freedom

On the occasion of the Polish 3rd of May Constitution Day, the SHAPE POLSOF Run was organized at the NATO Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) in Mons, Belgium. The allied nations – among them, Hungarian servicemembers and their family members – entered the five-kilometer run to pay tribute to Poland’s freedom and national traditions.

National Defence Medal to Major General László Sticz PhD

Major General László Sticz PhD, serving as the Hungarian national military representative at the NATO Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), was awarded the gold grade of the French National Defence Medal (Médaille de la Défense Nationale) to recognize his performance as former EUFOR Commander and his outstanding cooperation with the French Armed Forces.
