The corporal of the HDF 2nd Sports Company defeated his more-experienced Polish opponent in a great fight, where he turned the scores around from 0-6 to 10-6.

“I came for a medal and I am taking it home”, told us Végh, who admitted that the difference in strength could be seen in the first bout. “However, I did not give up, I went on and felt that the strength of my opponent was gone. It was the heart that decided this match, I wanted to win more, that’s it. It is incredible to say it out loud that I am a bronze-medallist European champion!”, added the athlete, struggling with his tears of joy.
The 25-year-old athlete from Érd could step onto the 3rd place of the podium at his first world-level championship.
