During the meeting, it was reasserted that Hungary and Slovakia continue to be strategic partners in the field of defence.

The main topics of the meeting included bilateral defence cooperation and the further possibilities for its expansion, the air policing tasks of the air forces of Hungary and Czechia in Slovak airspace, as well as the current transatlantic processes of the NATO Alliance.
Also on the agenda of the meeting were Hungary’s priorities concerning defence during the tenure of the V4 presidency, because among the headline targets of the Hungarian presidency that started on 1 July 2025 are to map the possibilities of joint capability development and to increase efficiency in the field of defence in order to further strengthen the security of our region in today’s complex security environment.
Beyond the framework of the Alliance, direct bilateral cooperation is also increasingly intensive among the two armed forces. Exercise Adaptive Hussars 2025, which is to be joined by the Slovak partners this year, and Exercise Strong Together 2025 to be conducted in Slovakia with Hungarian participation provide excellent opportunities for increasing cooperation between the two militaries along NATO’s operational plans. At the meeting, the two sides agreed that they will deepen cooperation in the field of military equipment besides military and defence policy cooperation.
