The event was organized for the first time, embedded in NATO’s defence planning process. Entering the new period of collective defence in the changed global and European security policy environment, the goal of the Alliance with establishing this forum was to enable member states to better coordinate the processes of personnel policy with attaining NATO capability goals, thus further strengthening the defence and security of the member states.

Allied partners shared the lessons learned during the challenges of the recent past and their plans for recruitment and training, as well as solutions and new approaches to fill up and keep the active and reserve personnel of the armed forces in the near future. Discussions involved the fields related to which NATO can play a prominent role in efficiently supporting the human resource management of member states through collective defence interests.

At the end of the meeting with a constructive atmosphere, the participants agreed to continue these discussions in the future, lifting the issues of human resource management to a distinguished agenda item in the context of NATO.

From a Hungarian point of view, the MoD Deputy State Secretary for Strategy and HR Policy evaluated the discussions as successful, which can contribute to the further development of the HDF and thus, to the promotion of security in Hungary and Europe.
