On the occasion of the Hungarian national day, Lieutenant Colonel Róbert Kiss, commander of the 35th rotation of the Hungarian Defence Forces’ KFOR Contingent, presented awards to Hungarian and Romanian soldiers from the contingent for their outstanding performance. The ceremony also featured a medal parade; personnel completing their deployment received awards for their peacekeeping service in NATO’s Balkan theater.

The event provided a solemn setting for Hungarian soldiers serving in the headquarters and various subunits of KFOR to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the 1956 Revolution and War of Independence, together with invited guests — including His Excellency Miklós Dániel Varga PhD, deputy head of mission at the Hungarian Embassy in Kosovo, as well as their foreign comrades-in-arms.
