The Minister of Defence reported on his social media page that he had discussed with Defence Minister Guido Crosetto the development of Hungarian-Italian defence relations, the security challenges facing NATO and the European Union, and opportunities for defence industry cooperation.

“Italy is an important ally of our in ensuring collective European security. I am convinced that allied cooperation is truly effective when, in addition to shared objectives, we also strengthen our ties in practical tasks, capability development and the field of defence industry. Today’s discussions provided an opportunity to review changes in the security environment and to discuss how the Hungarian-Italian partnership can contribute to strengthening NATO’s and Europe’s defence capabilities. Security cannot be taken for granted. We must build it through joint efforts, responsible decisions and strong alliances,” said Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi.
