During the dives, the soldiers practiced emergency protocols in accordance with the DIR standard (which is regarded as the benchmark for technical diving), the use of various Nitrox gas mixtures, and learnt to use a side-mounted cylinder configuration.
These new procedures and technical background represent a crucial step in preparing for future missions, because when combined with chest-worn closed-circuit rebreathers (CCRs), they enable tasks to be carried out safely and efficiently even at greater depths.
The seminar provided an excellent opportunity to expand professional knowledge, refine diving skills and foster international cooperation.
