Remembering Heroes, Far from Home

The ceremony was led by Brigadier General Zoltán Bárány, JFTC Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff, and attended by soldiers from partner nations, local dignitaries and family members of those serving at the training centre. Dr Habil. Miklós Mitrovits, Ambassador-designate of Hungary to Poland, addressed the gathering, and the Bydgoszcz Military Band (Orkiestra Wojskowa w Bydgoszczy) gave a gala concert.

Apart from symbolising the close ties and cooperation between NATO member states, the event also serves to remind us that, even while on duty, we must remember the heroes of the past, even when a mission takes us away from our homeland.
