In the morning of Friday, 17 April, nominated personnel of the Special Operations Forces (SOF) left for Morocco aboard a KC-390 transport aircraft of the Hungarian Defence Forces to participate in Exercise African Lion.
Chief of HDF Defence Staff travels to France

On Thursday, 16 April, General Dr. Gábor Böröndi, Chief of HDF Defence Staff travelled to Lille aboard the Falcon aircraft of the Hungarian Defence Forces at the invitation of General Fabien Mandon, his French counterpart, in order to attend the Distinguished Visitors’ Day of the international Exercise Orion 2026.
Hungarian general assumes duties as DCOM EUFOR Operation Althea

Brigadier General Bálint Legoza has taken over the lead of EUFOR Operation Althea, the European Union’s peacekeeping operation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the next months, two Hungarian generals will be serving concurrently in the leadership of the mission, as Brigadier General Tibor Szabó will be performing his duties as chief of staff until May.

The Hungarian Defence Forces and the Ohio National Guard may expand its more than 30-year cooperation to the fields of air defence, cyber operations and drone warfare as well.
