Hungarian-Romanian Military Cooperation Strengthens

On 13 August in Bucharest, General Zsolt Sándor, Chief of the HDF Defence Staff, discussed with his Romanian counterpart, General Gheorghiță Vlad, ways to further strengthen military cooperation, joint training exercises and operational involvement, as well as experiences in force development.

Hungarian soldiers participate in Paris military parade

Soldiers of the Hungarian Defence Forces also participated in the Bastille Day military parade held in Paris on July 14. The Hungarian unit marching down Champs-Élysées consisted of soldiers of the HDF 32nd Lifeguard Regiment. General Zsolt Sándor, Chief of HDF Defence Staff also observed the ceremonial event.
Precision strikes – a guarantee of deterrence and success

“NATO considers the development of its Deep Precision Strike capabilities one of its most important tasks for the coming years” – this is how General Zsolt Sándor, Chief of HDF Defence Staff summed up the primary message of a symposium held with the participation of military leaders of the North Atlantic Alliance held in Mons, Belgium. In his opinion, the conclusions of the meeting are of key significance for the further operational planning and capability development tasks of the Hungarian Defence Forces.
NATO and the EU focus on strengthening the armed forces

Exercise series Adaptive Hussars continues – this year without troop movements

Special Operations Forces in international cooperation

Chief of HDF Defence Staff travels to France

On Thursday, 16 April, General Dr. Gábor Böröndi, Chief of HDF Defence Staff travelled to Lille aboard the Falcon aircraft of the Hungarian Defence Forces at the invitation of General Fabien Mandon, his French counterpart, in order to attend the Distinguished Visitors’ Day of the international Exercise Orion 2026.
Hungarian general assumes duties as DCOM EUFOR Operation Althea

Brigadier General Bálint Legoza has taken over the lead of EUFOR Operation Althea, the European Union’s peacekeeping operation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the next months, two Hungarian generals will be serving concurrently in the leadership of the mission, as Brigadier General Tibor Szabó will be performing his duties as chief of staff until May.
