Hungary and North Macedonia are open to further deepening military-to-military relations and strengthening cooperation between their armed forces, which contributes to the security and stability of the region. Keeping NATO interoperability in mind, they mutually support and help each other and open up the possibilities of joint training, declared the Chief of HDF Defence Staff following the discussions with his North Macedonian counterpart in Ohrid. General Dr. Gábor Böröndi made a two-day official visit to North Macedonia at the invitation of Major General Sashko Lafchiski.

NATO Defense College Visits Budapest

Nielsen, the Senior Course of the primary strategic-level educational facility of the NATO Defense College (NDC) visited Budapest to learn about Hungary’s foreign, security and defence policy priorities, as well as the directions of armed forces development. The delegation was received by Lieutenant General Ferenc Kajári, Deputy Chief of HDF Defence Staff.

Regional challenges, common goals: these are what the Chiefs of Defence of the Visegrád Group recently discussed in the Polish capital, Warsaw. Cybersecurity, joint exercises and filling up the European Union Battlegroup (EU BG) by 2028 were discussed. At the end of the summit, Poland handed over the rotating presidency to Hungary. From now on, Hungary will lead the V4 cooperation for a year.

EU Recognition to the Hungarian Defence Forces

Exercise Ramstein Flag 2025 is more than a simple training – it is a spectacular demonstration of NATO’s collective will, flexibility and air deterrence posture. Just like during land exercises, the participants have a collective objective in the air as well, to be attained through international cooperation – emphasized General Dr. Gábor Böröndi, Chief of the HDF Defence Staff at Skrydstrup Air Base, Denmark, where he paid a visit to learn about the multinational live-fly tactical-level exercise and the tasks of the Hungarian personnel participating in it.
