Hungary Is Actively Engaged in Defending NATO’s Eastern Flank

The full operational readiness of the Székesfehérvár-based NATO command element and this year’s Exercise Adaptive Hussars 25 are guarantees that Hungary – as a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization – does everything to defend the Eastern Flank, said General Dr. Gábor Böröndi after the session of the NATO Military Committee in Brussels.

Hungary and the Hungarian Defence Forces provide every support to the personnel deployed abroad so that they can carry on with their tasks successfully, emphasized General Dr. Gábor Böröndi, Chief of Defence after gathering information about the security situation in Cyprus and Lebanon in person, together with CSM Zoltán Kaszab, Command Sergeant Major of the HDF. He added that Hungary’s goal is to further contribute to the UN peacekeeping missions in Cyprus and Lebanon.
