The reservist of the 10th Territorial Defence Battalion of the HDF 2nd ‘vitéz Vattay Antal’ Territorial Defence Regiment has performed his tasks outstandingly, from the first day of Exercise Vigorous Warrior 2024, thus earning recognition from his commanders. The corporal provided an English language connection between the ongoing field exercise and the command level first as an interpreter, then as a vehicle commander.
Iván Alexander Szabó spent his childhood in the United Kingdom, where he pursued his studies as a Royal Air Force Air Cadet at the 47F Grantham Squadron. His commitment can be seen in the fact that he acquired a cadet instructor qualification at an early age and instructed recruits during the 19-week British basic training. When he moved back to Hungary a few years ago, he immediately applied for reservist military service after completing the secondary school leaving exams.
