Israeli Chief of Defence General Herzi Halevi introduced the strategic lessons learned in the Gaza War, shedding light on the fact that it is not only a local or regional conflict but the risk of global escalation is highly realistic, in which the conflicts of interests of great powers are obviously also outlined. He elaborated on the endeavours of regional actors to support Hamas and other anti-Israeli terrorist groups in the context of destabilizing the region and changing the current status quo.

General Halevi also mentioned the recent extensive drone and ballistic missile attack on the country, the escalation of which could have opened a second front and even set the whole Middle East on fire as a result, with the risk of global escalation. He spoke highly of the performance of the Israeli air defence, as well as of the military support from the neighbouring states and the partner countries stationed in the region during repelling the missile and drone attack.

The two chiefs of defence discussed several topics that can form an excellent basis for further strengthening the bilateral cooperation. Focusing on their specialties, the leaders of the Israeli General Staff shared numerous lessons learned with the Hungarian delegation, which have significant added value to the planning of the Hungarian National Defence and Armed Forces Development Program.
