Security Is Created, Not Imported

Modern defence forces require modern equipment – and a sufficient supply of modern ammunition to go with it. The manufacturing capacity established in Várpalota is of strategic importance for the supply of the Hungarian Defence Forces, and it will strengthen our country’s independence and security in the long term.
The goal is clear: we need to have know-how, technology, manufacturing and capacity here at home. Because a country can only truly defend itself if it is not only able to purchase the equipment necessary for its security, but can also produce it itself. Várpalota is one of the key pillars of the Hungarian defence industry, said the minister.
