Hungarian Defence Forces exercising with US, NATO and regional partners

“This week the Hungarian Defence Forces are conducting training events together with foreign partners on multiple locations around Hungary in the interest of developing joint operational and reaction capabilities” – said Chief of HDF Defence Staff General Dr. Gábor Böröndi. The general told us that hundreds of Hungarian servicemembers were exercising together with their Italian, American, Slovak, Slovenian and Serbian comrades during these training events organized within NATO and bilateral frameworks.
Exercise series Adaptive Hussars continues – this year without troop movements

Hungary supports NATO’s decision on increasing its Alliance-wide ballistic missile defence posture, which serves the defence of the populations of allied countries, including Hungary, in response to the deteriorating security situation in the Middle East – stated Defence Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky following NATO’s announcement.

“Ongoing since 2023, today the strategic partnership between Hungary and Türkiye means not only diplomatic cooperation but also a tangible resource serving national interests” – stated Defence Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky after a session of the Türkiye–Hungary High Level Strategic Cooperation Council in Istanbul. The meeting was at once an occasion for holding bilateral discussions with Minister of National Defence Yaşar Güler and Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır.
The Hungarian Defence Forces’ Baltic Air Policing Mission is Completed

The Hungarian Defence Forces’ four-month Baltic Air Policing Mission has ended. After 2015, 2019 and 2022, Hungary participated in the mission already on the fourth occasion – announced Defence Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky.

Defence Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky also discussed the purchase of High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) and rockets at the Pentagon, as he himself announced on Saturday, 8 November in an interview to public media, adding that the purchase may be considered to be made over a three-to-five-year period, following authorization by the U.S. Congress.
Country Defence Exercise Adaptive Hussars 2025 Ends with Success

Hungarian Defence Forces Baltic Air Policing Mission reaches halfway point

During the two months that have passed since 1 August, Hungarian Gripens have had 11 Alpha and 43 Tango scrambles. However, the Hungarian airmen not only provide airspace protection for the Baltic republics, but are also closely cooperating with NATO forces stationed in the region.
