János Áder visits Sarajevo

On Tuesday, 14 December President of Hungary János Áder paid a visit to Bosnia-Herzegovina. He personally said thanks to the soldiers of the HDF EUFOR Contingent who are spending the Christmas holiday season, too, in a foreign mission.

On Tuesday, 14 December President of Hungary János Áder paid a visit to the Force Headquarters of EUFOR Operation Althea in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina. The head of state’s entourage included Defence Minister Dr. Tibor Benkő and Lieutenant General Dr. Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi, Commander, Hungarian Defence Forces, who also visited the Hungarian soldiers serving in a foreign mission during the holiday season.

On Monday, 13 December in Pristina, Kosovo, Defence Minister Tibor Benkő and Lieutenant General Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi PhD, Commander, Hungarian Defence Forces personally thanked the 26th rotation of the HDF KFOR Contingent (KFOR-26 HUNCON) for its work. Major General Ferenc Kajári, the commander of NATO’s largest and longest-running mission received the members of the delegation at the military base Camp Film City. After recognizing the work done by the personnel filling individual staff positions, the delegation greeted the members of the rotation in Camp Novo Selo.

Commander of Hungarian Defence Forces visits Iraq

During his stay, he held a discussion with the chief of staff of the Iraqi Armed Forces and visited the base of the Hungarian Defence Forces Iraqi Training Support Contingent (HTSC) in Erbil.

Discussing challenges facing NATO in the Netherlands

The Northern Commanders’ Conference was held at NATO’s Allied Joint Force Command (JFC) Brunssum, the Netherlands between 6–8 December. Prior to the event, chiefs of defence of NATO member countries discussed current issues in security policy and epidemiology during a videoconference. At the meeting, Hungary was represented by Lieutenant General Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi, Commander, Hungarian Defence Forces.
