International visitors’ group in Kecskemét and Tata

On 10-11 October, in accordance with the provisions of the Vienna Document 2011 on Confidence and Security Building Measures – in the framework of the demonstration of new types of major weapon and equipment systems and visits to airbases and military facilities arranged in the area of Hungary – a 54-man international delegation arrived at the HDF 101st Aviation Wing and the HDF 1st Armored Brigade.

On 11 October, altogether 85 German soldiers killed in action in the Second World War were placed to eternal rest in the German–Hungarian Military Cemetery and Peace Park of Budaörs. The ongoing cooperation between the Hungarian Ministry of Defence and the German War Graves Commission (Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge) – which has facilitated the reburial – already has a 30-year history.

The anti-doping monitoring group of the Council of Europe recently paid a visit to the Ministry of Defence State Secretariat for Sport, where its members were introduced to Hungary’s anti-doping activities in the framework of professional days. Speaking about the visit, Secretary of State for Sports Dr. Ádám Schmidt pointed out that our country plays an outstanding role in the anti-doping fight on an international scale as well.
