Hungarian-Omani joint committee set up

On 15 June, the Hungarian–Omani Economic and Technical Joint Committee held its first plenary session in Budapest. The committee was co-chaired during the event by MoD Parliamentary State Secretary, Deputy Defence Minister Tamás Vargha and Sheik Khalifa bin Ali bin Issa Al-Harthy, Undersecretary for Diplomatic Affairs of the Foreign Ministry of the Sultanate of Oman.

Hungarian personnel perform excellently

The Hungarian air force is participating in NATO’s largest ever air deployment exercise in Germany between 12-23 June. During Air Defender 2023, 10,000 personnel from 25 nations are practicing air operations in European airspace with 250 aircraft in the spirit of transatlantic solidarity. The Hungarian Defence Forces are present at the international training event with five JAS 39 Gripen fighters and 48 airmen.

Turkish Chief of Defence Visits Hungary

General Musa Avsever, Acting Chief of the General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces is staying in Hungary on a three-day official visit. As part of his program, he laid a wreath in Heroes’ Square, Budapest, and then conducted closed-door talks in the Ministry of Defence on Monday, 12 June.
