“Have you seen anything? No? Then the army scouts have done a good job on their exercise!”

As a result of force developments in the recent period, during the complex execution of their tasks, the army scouts were successfully employing all capabilities of the regiment, while being reinforced with the subunits of the HDF 1st Armored Brigade, the HDF 30th Mechanized Infantry Brigade, the HDF 14th Engineer Regiment, the HDF 102nd CBRN Regiment and the German 8th Reconnaissance Battalion as well as with the observers of the Slovak 65th Reconnaissance Battalion.

The combined force-level training with the German reconnaissance unit had already started this July, during Exercise Golden Serve 2024 conducted in Germany. The role taken on by the Hungarian unit at the foreign training event provided a solid basis for the further development of international cooperation, which gave the soldiers opportunity to demonstrate ISR capabilities and to get to know each other’s ISR standard operating procedures.

The exercise was also observed by participants of the Senior Military Leader Postgraduate University Level Programme of the Ludovika University of Public Service Faculty of Military Sciences and Officer Training, and the command groups and army scouts of the military units involved.

The main focus of the training events was on operational planning and command, with special emphasis on developing the autonomy of subunits.
