Hungarian Defence Industry Equipment in Paris
Text: Hungarian Defence Export Agency Ltd. | 15:26 July 2, 2024The Hungarian Defence Export Agency Ltd (VEX) had its own national pavilion at the Eurosatory 2024: The Global Event for Defence and Security in Paris between 17 and 21 June, which is one of the most prestigious European defence exhibitions. A main goal of VEX is to help the export activities of Hungarian companies in the defence industry by providing them with foreign business relations and opportunities. Therefore, 14 partners of VEX introduced themselves at the 120-square-metre national pavilion at Eurosatory.
The partners had the opportunity to introduce their products to the professional and civilian audience of Eurosatory. Thus, non-lethal small arms with low muzzle energy for crowd riot control and security purposes of Atlas Network/Globserver, handguns and light machine guns developed by Gestamen, Gamma’s CBRN reconnaissance vehicles, Continest’s container solutions and Leopoly’s 3D display virtual applications got a place at the pavilion. Also present were Infinit Simulation with its advanced VR technology training system and Medirlab with its explosion proof (ATEX) Pyrolater thermal camera and its Cyclops portable reconnaissance thermal camera. Further exhibitors included GHI-Csendes with its bullet trap and modular shooting range solutions, 4iG Space with its space communications and satellite solutions as well as ARWorks with its AR/VR-based training and other simulation devices. Last but not least, the ground surveillance and counter-drone radars of Pro Patria, drone solutions of Rotors & Cams, including the ProTAR Professional Target UAV System and the printed circuit board design capabilities of PCB Design Ltd. were also displayed. Besides, the Defence Innovation Research Institute (DIRI) was also represented and introduced its off-road electric motorcycle for reconnaissance operations.
The VEX pavilion was visited by Major General Zoltán Somogyi, Director of the HDF General Staff, Dr. Zsolt Kutnyánszki, MoD State Secretary for Defence Policy, Force Development and Defence Industry heading a delegation and Colonel László Deme, Deputy State Secretary for Force Development and Defence Innovation, also heading a delegation. The Hungarian national pavilion was also honoured by the visit of Georg von Habsburg, Hungary’s ambassador to Paris, Hungary’s defence attaché to Paris Colonel Tibor Deme, and Marianna Szűcs, Economic and Trade Attaché in Paris.
Numerous high-level foreign – such as Malaysian, Qatari, Thai and Indonesian – delegations visited the VEX pavilion, who were interested in the products of the Hungarian defence industry. During the five-day exhibition, an agreement on participation in the Indo Defence Expo and & Forum in Jakarta was also ceremoniously signed by the organizers and Dr. Zsolt Tarjáni, Business Development Executive, VEX.
VEX plans to introduce its partner companies and their products at further exhibitions this year. Next time, VEX will have a pavilion at the International Defence Industry Exhibition MSPO 2024 in Kielce, Poland, where the participants will have the opportunity to show their products to the audience of the region’s central security, national defence, scientific and technological event.
