The Hungarian people are proud of the great contribution of the Hungarian soldiers and speak of their service with appreciation, said President Katalin Novák in Kosovo, when she visited the KFOR mission on Tuesday, September 13.
Meeting the personnel in the camp Novo Selo, she emphasized that as the Commander-in-Chief of the Hungarian Armed Forces, she brought the Hungarians' gratitude to the soldiers serving in Kosovo. She added that it is common knowledge in Hungary that Hungarian soldiers are serving in Kosovo, and it is widely supported in the country. The President of the Republic expressed her appreciation to Major General Ferenc Kajári, the Hungarian commander of the KFOR mission.
Katalin Novák noted that a war is raging in Ukraine, which every country in Europe wanted to avoid. Hungary is on the side of peace, she emphasized and added, the destabilization of the Western Balkan region could affect Europe as well. As she said, waging a war or creating and preserving peace comprise an equally difficult task. She spoke with appreciation of the strength of soldiers, which is necessary for protecting their country and defending peace.
Speaking to the soldiers as a wife and mother, Ms Katalin Novák emphasized, she senses how difficult it can be to be away from the family, and she expressed her appreciation to the families for their sacrifice. At the end of the meeting, the President of the Hungarian Republic presented a gift to the service members.
