Safe and precise transportation
Text: Levente Petróczy | Photo: Ákos Pintér |  13:08 October 13, 2025During the logistic Exercise Safety Transport 2025, German, Czech and Hungarian platoons are moving at company level under a joint command. Besides training tasks, they are strengthening their transportation capabilities by meeting the requirements of the NATO-framed joint, whole-of-government, country defence Exercise Adaptive Hussars 2025.

The most important part of the exercise is the cross training, where they rehearse their joint tasks on platoon level and then carry them out. “On the occasion of this joint exercise, the Hungarian troops are gaining expertise in the procedures of convoy operations, as so far, the personnel of the HDF 2nd Sustainment Regiment have been assigned fewer operational logistic tasks. The SATT 25 is also an excellent opportunity to learn the tricks of the trade from the Germans and from the Czech logisticians, who are newcomers at the exercise – said Major Gábor Mestyán, Head of Operations and Training Department, HDF 2nd Sustainment Regiment.
Major Mestyán pointed out that they are assigned tasks in the redeployment phase of Exercise Adaptive Hussars 2025, too, which is running in parallel with SATT 25: their capabilities are put to the test and they are practicing logistic support tasks not only within scenarios but also during the execution of real-world logistic tasks.

In answer to our question, First Lieutenant Márk Pécsi, company commander of the exercise told us that the transportation company is originally capable of transporting 600 tons of cargo, and is tasked with transporting 100 tons per platoon during the training event. Speaking about the cooperating nations, he highlighted the unit cohesion among Hungarians and Germans, as they have been carrying out joint logistic tasks already for ten years now.
“Last year the Czechs were present at the exercise in observer status; however, this year they are participating as task executors in Táborfalva military training area. Their procedures are completely different from those of the other two nations, but they receive all assistance within the framework of SATT 25 to learn the multinational scope of tasks” – said the company commander.
The end of the cross training marks the start of real-world transportation tasks; on 13 October the participants are going to demonstrate to superiors of the three nations what they have learned at the two-week training.
