The aim is to ensure that, alongside other participants, airmen from the HDF 86th Helicopter Wing are also able to respond to any problem in record time.

Quick Response 2026: Hungarian Rotary-Wing Aircraft in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Hungarian helicopters arrived at Camp Butmir in Sarajevo, where they are taking part in Exercise Quick Response 2026 as part of Operation Althea of the European Union, better known as EUFOR.

Hungarian Success at the CISM World Military Parachuting Championships

At the 47th CISM World Military Parachuting Championships (WMPC), held in Doha between 13 and 23 November, 180 competitors from 28 countries compared their skills in accuracy landing, style and formation skydiving events. The Hungarian team represented our country in accuracy landing with six athletes from the HDF 86th Helicopter Wing personnel.

Wildfire Control in Bulgaria with Hungarian Assistance

Successful firefighting operation in Albania

After completing four days of firefighting and more than 53 flight hours, the two H225M helicopters of the Hungarian Defence Forces returned from Albania to Szolnok airbase, Hungary on Sunday. The Hungarian airmen and the two rotorcraft had been providing assistance with containing the wildfires raging for weeks.

During the NATO Electronic Warfare Force Integration Program’s (NEWFIP) multinational Exercise Ramstein Guard 2025, the aircrew of the HDF 86th Helicopter Wing was practicing the release of infrared flares from a H145M helicopter. This pyrotechnic device can be useful as countermeasure when the aircraft is targeted with guided missiles.
