In December 1914, Hungarian and Polish troops performed one of the most outstanding strategic feats of arms of World War I. The name of Limanowa has become synonymous with the eternal example of heroic conduct and self-sacrificing fight. The international Exercise Adaptive Hussars 23 – the largest-scale and most complex one in the last 30 years involving close to 6000 personnel and 47 military organizations – has ended in Hungary. The Hungarian Defence Forces and the civil defence administration have passed the test with flying colors in the framework of this exercise, emphasized Defence Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky.
Hungarian contribution to anti-terrorism action

On behalf of the government, Defence Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky has tabled his proposed amendment on Hungary’s military role in Iraq. Based on the draft resolution tabled by him, at most 20 troops – or 40 in rotational periods – would serve in the international military operations conducted against the Islamic State. Their mandate will run until 31 December 2025.

The anti-doping monitoring group of the Council of Europe recently paid a visit to the Ministry of Defence State Secretariat for Sport, where its members were introduced to Hungary’s anti-doping activities in the framework of professional days. Speaking about the visit, Secretary of State for Sports Dr. Ádám Schmidt pointed out that our country plays an outstanding role in the anti-doping fight on an international scale as well.
