Chief Warrant Officer Zoltán Kaszab
08:02 August 10, 2021CSM Kaszab commenced his military service as a conscript soldier from 1991-1992. Following his 12 month obligatory service he enlisted at the 34. Bercsényi Miklós Long Range Reconnaissance Battalion at Szolnok, Hungary (later was renamed as 34. Bercsényi László LRRB).
Upon enlistment he was assigned at the Long Range Reconnaissance (LRRS) communication training company as instructor until 1995.
Following his instructor assignment CSM Kaszab was appointed LRRS team deputy team leader, later team leader.
Between 2004-2006 he was assigned as a Company 1st.SGT at the LRRS company where he served earlier.
Following the structural changes that formed his LRRS Battalion into a Special Forces Battalion CSM Kaszab was appointed as battalion Sergeant Major, and later Regimental Sergeant Major from 2007-2015.
Upon the establishment of the Hungarian Defence Forces Command CSM Kaszab was promoted to CSM of the Joint Special Operations Command.
CSM Kaszab recently is serving as the Command Sergeant Major of the Hungarian Defence Forces.

The Film City Military Base in Kosovo saw a change of command ceremony on 15th October: Major General Ferenc Kajári took over the command of KFOR from Italian General Franco Federici. With his appointment, for the first time in the history of the Kosovo peacekeeping mission, a Hungarian commander will head NATO's 22-year-long mission, for which some four thousand troops from twenty-eight countries are contributed.

After the meeting, the major general received the Officer’s Cross of the Hungarian Order of Merit from Defence State Secretary István Szabó.

The top leaders of leading American companies recently visited Budapest already for the sixth time, in the organization of the US–Hungary Business Council. On Thursday, 14 October, on behalf of the defence portfolio, Defence Minister Dr. Tibor Benkő received 14 representatives of eight companies who arrived, among others, from the fields of defence industry, cyber defence, pharmaceutical industry, medical technology industry, oil and gas industry as well as tobacco industry.

DECI member countries’ Chiefs of Defence meet in Rome

The participants of a chiefs of staff level conference of the Defence Cooperation Initiative (DECI) have signed a document concerning the result of the Strategic Review in Rome. At the two-day discussion, Hungary was represented by Lieutenant General Dr. Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi, Commander of the Hungarian Defence Forces. The chiefs of staff of member countries reaffirmed that this form of cooperation has the primary objective of enhancing regional stability and security in Central and South-Eastern Europe through the military cooperation of member states.

Multinational exercise held in Bosnia–Herzegovina

Exercise EUFOR Quick Response 2021 started in mid-September to test the quick reaction forces (QRF) and capabilities of the peacekeeping mission as well as the subunits of countries providing the Intermediate Reserve Forces (IRF). The exercise also involved the armed forces of Bosnia-Herzegovina (AFBiH) and representatives of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA).
