Type certification of H225M helicopters completed

The Hungarian military type certification of the Airbus H225M medium lift helicopters has recently been completed. Two out of the 16 ordered multi-role helicopters are going to be handed over at the Airbus Helicopters facility in Marignane, France this July. The Ministry of Defence has placed an order for a total of 16 helicopters of this type in the framework of the National Defence and Armed Forces Development program, with the aim of developing the transport helicopter capability of the Hungarian Defence Forces.

Nominated aircrews and intelligence personnel of the HDF 101st Aviation Wing and fighter controllers of the HDF Air Operations Command and Control Centre are participating in their annual tactical simulator training in Sweden. During his visit to Sweden, Minister of Defence of Hungary Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky also viewed the ongoing training program.

On 2 March, László Hajnik, MoD Deputy State Secretary for Defence Policy held an official discussion with his Italian partner, Admiral Gianfranco Annunziata in Rome. At the meeting, the defence policy leaders signed the schedule of the bilateral Italian–Hungarian military cooperation in a ceremony.
NATO Medal Parade in Kosovo

The tour of duty of the 27th rotation of the HDF KFOR Contingent is nearing its end in Kosovo. The backbone of the more-than-400-strong contingent has been made up of the Hungarian Defence Forces 1st Armored Brigade, but several other military organizations have contributed troops for the time of the foreign mission. In recognition of their service abroad over the last six months, the soldiers received their NATO medals at an event held in Camp Novo Selo.
