“This is an event where secondary school students can demonstrate how well prepared they are,” said Major General Dr. László Drót about the competitors of the 10th National Military Tournament Competition (NMTC) and the 6th International Cadet Cup (ICC). The Commander of the Hungarian Defence Forces Territorial Defence and Military Augmentation Command presented the awards to the podium finishers on 15 April in Balatonakarattya.
Chief of HDF Defence Staff travels to France

On Thursday, 16 April, General Dr. Gábor Böröndi, Chief of HDF Defence Staff travelled to Lille aboard the Falcon aircraft of the Hungarian Defence Forces at the invitation of General Fabien Mandon, his French counterpart, in order to attend the Distinguished Visitors’ Day of the international Exercise Orion 2026.

The military parachute national team started preparation at the HDF 86th Helicopter Wing in Szolnok. Besides numerous world cup rounds, in 2026, the team will also participate in the 48th CISM Military Parachuting Championships to be held in Slovakia.

The Deputy Chief (Territorial Defence) of the HDF Defence Staff opened the 10th National Military Tournament Competition (NMTC) and the 6th International Cadet Cup organized in parallel with it.

Preparations for the multinational Exercise Platinum Wolf 26 have been going on for weeks at all three battalions of the HDF 4th Territorial Defence Regiment. The objectives of the training are to brush up the soldiers’ common military core skills and increase their capabilities.
International Recognition to Brigadier General Tibor Szabó

Brigadier General Tibor Szabó, Chief of Staff of the European Union’s peacekeeping mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, was awarded the Medal for International Cooperation Grade II, by the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Sajović, in recognition of his close cooperation with the Slovenian contingent in EUFOR Operation Althea and of his contribution to the development and reputation of the Slovenian Ministry of Defence and the Slovenian Armed Forces.

KFOR: Recognition of exemplary Austrian–Hungarian cooperation

On 30 March in Pristina, Captain Anna Katschnig, Company Commander, KFOR Multinational Military Police (MNMP) received the “Honors for the Partnership” medal from Colonel Gábor Hangya, Senior National Representative of the Hungarian KFOR Contingent KFOR Tactical.
