The delegation was comprehensively informed about the execution of the air policing tasks of the Hungarian Defence Forces and learnt about the capabilities of the JAS-39 Gripen fighter aircraft, as well as details of the standby service’s operation. The ambassador expressed his special thanks to the Hungarian Defence Forces for their role in air policing in the Slovenian airspace.

As it is known, Hungary has been carrying out air policing tasks in Slovenia since 2014 because the Slovenian Air Force does not have fighter aircraft. The cooperation between the two countries is an important element of the NATO Integrated Air and Missile Defence System, which well presents allied solidarity and the strengthening of regional security.
