Defence Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky also watched the exercise.

General Gábor Böröndi said at the press conference following the exercise that the exercise is a good example of NATO and, in general, multinational cooperation, in which American, Spanish and Hungarian forces practice the coordination of air and land operations and cooperation. Close fire support, stopping the enemy and carrying out a counterattack receive particular emphasis, he added.
He also said that “manoeuvre and fire were in harmony, we had a common language, we had common procedures, thus, cooperation was reached easily”.

The exercise, in which 800 Hungarian, 1400 American and 450 Spanish servicemembers participate, is from 6 to 24 June. Participants continue to practice coordination and learn common training methods.
The demonstration part of the visitors’ day involved a close fire support exercise with air and land forces, during which land forces, with the help of the air force, halted and suppressed the enemy by fire control, then carried out a counterattack.
The two military branches and the different arms all work together in coordination, under American command.

The Hungarian contingent contributes to the success of the joint operations with modern equipment and outstanding capabilities. Among others, self-propelled artillery systems, CBRN units, mechanised gunmen, anti-tank and air defence sub-units, as well as helicopter and reconnaissance units, carry out joint tasks with the allied nations.
On the Hungarian Defence Forces’ part, the operations are led by the HDF Joint Operations Command, acting as a division command during the exercise.
