It was officially announced at the 21st International Command Senior Enlisted Leader Conference in Lisbon – held with the participation of 35 NATO member and partner states – that CSM Zoltán Kaszab, Command Sergeant Major of the Hungarian Defence Forces, will receive this position.

“Well-trained, ready-for-action Hungarian soldiers, high-tech armoured vehicles – that’s what we are talking about”, wrote Defence Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky on his social media page after, together with the arrival of three other Leopard 2A7HU main battle tanks, the first Leguan 2HU bridge layer also arrived at the HDF 1st Armoured Brigade. With the new engineering capability of the armour corps, the Land Forces of the HDF are further strengthened.

MILEX 2025: Strengthening European Defence Capability

Soldiers from 13 nations, the crackle of gunfire, heavy machine guns and impressive vehicles: such is MILEX 2025. The European Union’s grandiose exercise is hosted by Hungary this year, including the Hungarian Defence Forces’ Central Shooting Range and Training Area. The Hungarian Defence Forces are represented by the infantrymen of the HDF 1st Armoured Brigade with their Gidrán multipurpose armoured vehicles and Carl Gustaf anti-tank weapons. The exercise commanded by Eurocorps is attended by more than 800 soldiers.
