Major General Dr. László Drót, commander of the HDF Territorial Defence Forces Command, Brigadier General Gábor Lőrincz, Hungary’s Military Attaché to Washington, Senior Warrant Officer Lajos Hérincs, Command Senior Enlisted Leader of the HDF Territorial Defence Forces Command, and Colonel Zoltán Fekets, commander of the HDF 7th Territorial Defence Regiment.

At the Camp Grayling Training Centre, the Ohio National Guard is providing M240B 7.62×51-millimeter machine guns to Hungarian reservists participating in Combat Readiness Exercise 2026 (CRX26) to carry out their training tasks. Before the equipment was put into use, their American comrades provided a detailed demonstration of how to use it safely and effectively.

The Hungarian reservists participating in the Ohio National Guard’s Combat Readiness Exercise 2026 (CRX26) are prepared for even the toughest challenges. The smoke from the wildfires raging in Canada has reached the state of Michigan, causing air quality in the Camp Grayling area to deteriorate dramatically. To protect the soldiers' health, exercise commanders ordered the temporary withdrawal of personnel from the field until the situation stabilizes.

Hungarian reservists participating in the Ohio National Guard’s Combat Readiness Exercise 2026 (CRX26) took up their designated starting positions on the wooded terrain of Camp Grayling Training Center. The area spans nearly 147,000 hectares, almost three times the size of Budapest, and is dotted with pine forests.

On July 12, the Hungarian contingent participating in Combat Readiness Exercise 2026 practiced combat-style embarkation and disembarkation from Black Hawk and Chinook helicopters before beginning exercises in the training area. Members of the Ohio National Guard conducted the training exercise to ensure safe task execution.

From Hajdúhadház to Poland

The reservists of the 5th Territorial Defence Battalion of the HDF 2nd Territorial Defence Regiment are carrying on without a break. Their training has reached another important milestone: it is now centered on the development of marksmanship skills, movement on terrain and the synchronization of fire and maneuver. The tasks they are currently rehearsing are not accidental: they will need these skills soon in the international arena, in Poland as well.

Preparing to leave for America

The Combat Readiness Exercise 26 will be organized in Michigan, the United States of America this July, and reservists from several territorial defence regiments of the Hungarian Defence Forces are going to travel there to participate in it. Their preparation is in full swing: after taking the mandatory inoculations, the soldiers developed and executed the operation orders (OPORDs).

Ready for international competitions as well

After monthslong tough training, a patrol team made up of six reservists has been formed to represent the Hungarian Defence Forces at domestic and international competitions. The members of the team include Reserve Sergeant First Class Tamás Bérdi, a soldier of the 46th Territorial Defence Battalion of the HDF 4th Territorial Defence Regiment.
