The Falcon 7X aircraft of the Hungarian Air Force with registration 607 landed at 09:00 on 19 May 2025, carrying aboard the mortal remains of the organizer and General Captain of the Royal Hungarian River Guard Richard Wulff Olaf and his wife, Edina Losonczy, which had formerly been buried in Costa Rica.

Leopards and Lynxes on a collective hunt

A milestone in the history of the Hungarian Defence Forces: for the first time, an armored patrol from Tata and a grenadier platoon from Hódmezővásárhely took part in a joint training event with Leopard 2A7HU main battle tanks and Lynx infantry fighting vehicles. Evolving cooperation is the first step towards combined-arms capability development. The joint training exercises are to continue this year.

Unique trauma surgical training on the threshold of NATO certification

A multinational group of civilian and military doctors, as well as perioperative assistants participated in the course based on American traumatology and battlefield lessons learned that was held with the title “Advanced Surgical Skills for Exposure in Trauma” (ASSET) at the Department of Pathology, Forensic and Insurance Medicine of Semmelweis University in Budapest on 16-17 April.

MILEX 2025: Strengthening European Defence Capability

Soldiers from 13 nations, the crackle of gunfire, heavy machine guns and impressive vehicles: such is MILEX 2025. The European Union’s grandiose exercise is hosted by Hungary this year, including the Hungarian Defence Forces’ Central Shooting Range and Training Area. The Hungarian Defence Forces are represented by the infantrymen of the HDF 1st Armoured Brigade with their Gidrán multipurpose armoured vehicles and Carl Gustaf anti-tank weapons. The exercise commanded by Eurocorps is attended by more than 800 soldiers.

At the MILEX 2025 international exercise, held in Hungary and focusing on rapid and efficient reactions during conflicts, the infantrymen of the HDF 1st Armoured Brigade could feel themselves on an actual mission. The brigade practised different tactical operations at the “zero point” shooting range and training area with its Gidrán multipurpose armoured vehicles, Carl Gustaf anti-tank weapons and other weapons for several days.

Hungary is hosting the international Military Exercise (MILEX) 2025 testing the land operational capabilities of the European Union’s battlegroups from 25 March to 10 April. The objective of the exercise is to assess the rapid reaction and coordination capabilities of participating countries in a real-world environment.

Due to its gigantic dimensions, the C-17 Globemaster III is one of the most important and versatile aircraft in strategic airlift, say the airmen of the Heavy Airlift Wing. The aircraft recently had opportunity to demonstrate its exceptional cargo airdrop capability above the village of Kenyeri.
