Wreaths laid in memory of soldiers fallen on Hungarian soil

“Here lie next to each other Turks, Bulgarians, Poles, Italians, Romanians and Hungarians, among others”, this was said on 2 November in the Budapest New Public Cemetery at a funerary wreath-laying ceremony organized by the MoD Department of Military Heritage on the occasion of All Souls’ Day, in memory of Hungarian and foreign soldiers who had fallen on Hungarian soil.

Hungary to hold joint NATO military exercise in November

In November 2023, under the name “Adaptive Hussars 2023”, the Hungarian Defence Forces are going to hold a multinational domestic military exercise with the participation of NATO forces in order to test the defence capabilities of the country. In the coming weeks, the Hungarian Defence Forces will be carrying out military operations on several spots around the country, with the objective of strengthening cooperation between the HDF and the civilian public administration”, announced Defence Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky.

Coordination Conference in Naples

On 26 October, the NATO Joint Force Command Naples (NATO JFCNP) organized the 2023 Southern Commanders’ Coordination Conference (SCCC). Two hundred Hungarian troops can serve in Chad

At the invitation of the President of Chad, a military mission would be sent to the African country, in the framework of which a maximum of 200 Hungarian troops would serve there starting from the spring of 2024 – this was what Defence Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky said at the 25 October session of the National Assembly, in the general debate of a motion on the military engagement of the Hungarian Defence Forces in Chad.

Hungarian Chief of Defence visits Türkiye

Meeting of Chiefs of Defence in Spain

On 17-18 October, the Chiefs of Defence of the European Union Military Committee (EUMC) met for the first time outside Belgium, in Sevilla, Spain.
