Handover of Chief of Staff position at the Multinational Division

Brigadier General Ernő Péter Siposs is the new Chief of Staff of Headquarters Multinational Division Centre (HQ MND-C). The position, embracing also senior national representative responsibilities, was handed over on Friday, April 8, in Székesfehérvár by Brigadier General Zoltán Somogyi, who will continue his service as the Chief of Staff of the European Union mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina from May.

Commander of Hungarian Defence Forces holds discussions in Germany

Between 5–7 April, Lieutenant General Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi PhD paid a three-day official visit to Germany. The commander of the Hungarian Defence Forces was received by General Eberhard Zorn, Inspector General of the Bundeswehr, with whom he discussed security policy issues. Government Commissioner for Defence Development Dr. Gáspár Maróth also participated in the visit.

Forward-looking command

In the last week of March, the forward command post of the Headquarters Multinational Division Centre (HQ MND-C) moved into field conditions. With the tasks, performed during New Bastion 22-1 battle staff training, the headquarters is already treading the path leading to achieving full operational capability.

Deputy Commander of Hungarian Defence Forces visits United States of America

On 1 April, a change of command ceremony was held in the United States of America in honor of retiring General Kenneth F. McKenzie. Major General Zsolt Sándor, Deputy Commander, Hungarian Defence Forces took this occasion to travel to Washington for a dayslong visit, during which he had discussions with Hungary’s ambassador to Washington Szabolcs Takács, Brigadier General Dr. László Szegő, Rear Admiral Tim Henry and General Philippe Lavigne as well.
