Paratroopers relieve mountain infantrymen in NATO Battle Group

At a ceremony held on Wednesday, 9 August, the personnel of the Italian Brigata Paracadutisti “Folgore” (airborne brigade) rotated in to replace that of Brigata Alpina “Julia” (mountain infantry brigade) in Veszprém Jutaspuszta – Újmajor camp. Lieutenant Colonel Massimiliano Careddu, the outgoing commander of the Italian contingent of NATO’s enhanced Vigilance Activity Battle Group (eVA BG) relinquished his duties as contingent commander to Lieutenant Colonel Salvatore Sotgiu at the multinational military unit stationed in Hungary.

Nominated aircrews and intelligence personnel of the HDF 101st Aviation Wing and fighter controllers of the HDF Air Operations Command and Control Centre are participating in their annual tactical simulator training in Sweden. During his visit to Sweden, Minister of Defence of Hungary Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky also viewed the ongoing training program.

Hungarian Chief of Defence visits the United States of America

Hungarian Chief of Defence gives presentation at International Armoured Vehicles Conference in London

On 24 January, Lieutenant General Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi PhD, Chief of the General Staff of the Hungarian Defence Forces gave a presentation at the International Armoured Vehicles (IAVs) Conference, which was held with the participation of more than 60 speakers and more than 40 countries in London. Also in attendance at the event was Brigadier General János Somogyi, Deputy Director of Staff (DOS) Operations of the HDF General Staff.


Hungarian Chief of Defence attends NATO session

On 18–19 January, leaders of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and the representatives of Finland and Sweden held a two-day meeting of the NATO Military Committee in Chiefs of Defence Session at the NATO Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. The event was attended by Lieutenant General Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi PhD, Chief of the HDF General Staff, who also met the Hungarian soldiers serving in Belgium and gave them recognitions.
