Meeting of V4 Chiefs of Defence in Poland

Chiefs of defence of the Visegrád Four (V4) countries – among them, General Dr. Gábor Böröndi, Chief of HDF General Staff – recently reviewed the security challenges of Central and Eastern Europe as well as the issues of joint cooperation at their meeting held in Gdynia, Poland.

Central celebrations were recently held in Besztercebánya (Banska Bystrica) to mark the 80th anniversary of the Slovak National Uprising. Chief of Defence General Dr. Gábor Böröndi also participated in the celebrations. Hungary was represented by a parade platoon of the HDF “vitéz Szurmay Sándor” Budapest Garrison Brigade’s 32nd Life Guard Regiment at the military parade held as a part of the program, and a Gripen of the HDF 101st Aviation Wing made the event more colourful with a flypast.

V4 Chiefs of Defence Meet in Liblice, Czech Republic

Chiefs of Defence of the V4 countries, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia, recently met in Liblice, Czech Republic. Their conference was dominated by the conflict in Ukraine and the further development of the military cooperation among the four countries.
Directory Handover-takeover at Tisza Battalion

Lieutenant General Ferenc Kajári, Deputy Chief of HDF General Staff handed over the leading national role of the Multinational Engineer Battalion Tisa to Lieutenant General Dragoş-Dumitru Iacob, Deputy Chief of the Romanian Armed Forces General Staff.
NATO Military Committee in Chiefs of Defence Session

Between 17–18 January, NATO’s highest Military Authority, the Military Committee met in Brussels. The Hungarian delegation at the meeting was headed by General Dr. Gábor Böröndi, Chief of General Staff, Hungarian Defence Forces.

COMEUFOR’s preparation on the home stretch

With the Hungarian EUFOR Commander’s year 2024 approaching, the pre-deployment training of the personnel to travel abroad is slowly nearing completion. The same goes for the EUFOR Commander’s position, but besides the traditional tasks such as reporting on the readiness status and the farewell ceremony of the contingent, there are also several high-level meetings on the agenda for the weeks before deployment.
