Dutch Defence Policy Director in Hungary

Lars Walrave, Dutch defence policy director visited Hungary at the invitation of MoD Deputy State Secretary for Defence Policy László Hajnik from 16 to 17 June. In the focus of the discussions were the development of the two countries’ defence relations, the armed forces development, the possibilities for defence industrial cooperation, closer cooperation within NATO, the European defence readiness, the security situation of the Western Balkans and the Sahel and sharing the lessons learned in connection with recruitment and the formation and operation of the reservist system.

American-Hungarian Defence Relations Strengthen Further

With the appointment of President Donald Trump, a new era has begun in American-Hungarian relations, including defence cooperation. Upon the invitation of László Hajnik, MoD Deputy State Secretary for Defence Policy, David Baker, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for European and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Policy of the U.S. Department of Defense visited Budapest between 16 and 17 April. The official of the Pentagon visited Hungary during his first foreign trip following his appointment.

Serbian–Hungarian Experts’ Meeting in Budapest

Heading a delegation, Colonel Nebojša Svjetlica, Head of the Serbian Ministry of Defence Department for International Military Cooperation visited Hungary at the invitation of Colonel Albert Gróf, Head of the MoD Department for International Cooperation from 21 to 22 March. The goals of the Serbian–Hungarian experts’ meeting were to discuss military-to-military cooperation and to sign the Serbian–Hungarian Bilateral Military Cooperation Plan 2024.
