On 6 May, Lieutenant General Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi PhD, Commander, Hungarian Defence Forces held a discussion in Slovenia with Major General Robert Glavaš, Chief of the General Staff of the Slovenian Armed Forces on tightening Slovenian–Hungarian bilateral military cooperation. During the official visit, the two sides discussed the tasks related to the Russo-Ukrainian War that affects the two countries as well, and the possibilities for expanding the scope of bilateral military cooperation between Slovenia and Hungary.

Between 5–7 April, Lieutenant General Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi PhD paid a three-day official visit to Germany. The commander of the Hungarian Defence Forces was received by General Eberhard Zorn, Inspector General of the Bundeswehr, with whom he discussed security policy issues. Government Commissioner for Defence Development Dr. Gáspár Maróth also participated in the visit.

On 1 April, a change of command ceremony was held in the United States of America in honor of retiring General Kenneth F. McKenzie. Major General Zsolt Sándor, Deputy Commander, Hungarian Defence Forces took this occasion to travel to Washington for a dayslong visit, during which he had discussions with Hungary’s ambassador to Washington Szabolcs Takács, Brigadier General Dr. László Szegő, Rear Admiral Tim Henry and General Philippe Lavigne as well.

Lieutenant General Roger L. Cloutier, Commander, NATO Allied Land Command (LANDCOM) recently arrived in Hungary on a several-day visit. The high-ranking guest was received by the commander of the Hungarian Defence Forces on a courtesy call in Budapest. He visited Székesfehérvár, where he met with the leaders of the NATO Force Integration Unit Hungary (NFIU HUN) and the Headquarters Multinational Division-Centre (HQ MND-C), and then went to Tata to meet the troops of the HDF 25th György Klapka Infantry Brigade.

Between 23–27 January Major General Zsolt Sándor, Deputy Commander, Hungarian Defence Forces paid a visit to Israel, where he represented Hungary at a senior leaders’ meeting organized as part of the Battalion Commanders’ Course (V4 BCC) offered to the Visegrád Four (V4) countries.

Lieutenant General Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi, Commander of the Hungarian Defence Forces recently paid a three-day visit to Iraq. During his stay, he held a discussion with the chief of staff of the Iraqi Armed Forces and visited the base of the Hungarian Defence Forces Iraqi Training Support Contingent (HTSC) in Erbil.

The Northern Commanders’ Conference was held at NATO’s Allied Joint Force Command (JFC) Brunssum, the Netherlands between 6–8 December. Prior to the event, chiefs of defence of NATO member countries discussed current issues in security policy and epidemiology during a videoconference. At the meeting, Hungary was represented by Lieutenant General Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi, Commander, Hungarian Defence Forces.

Between 29 November – 1 December, Major General Zsolt Sándor, Deputy Commander, Hungarian Defence Forces paid a visit to Brussels. During the three-day program, he visited the NATO Military Committee, the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) and the NATO Special Operations Headquarters (NSHQ).
Chief of Staff of Hungarian Defence Forces Command receives Spain’s ambassador and Spanish defence attaché to Budapest

On Tuesday, 30 November Lieutenant General Zoltán Mihócza, Chief of Staff, Hungarian Defence Forces Command received in his office Spanish Ambassador HE Ms. Anunciada Fernández de Córdova and Colonel Juan Escrigas Rodríguez, Spain’s defence attaché accredited to Budapest. The visit is an outstanding one because it was almost ten years ago that the last military meeting at such a high level took place between the two countries.

On Monday, 22 November Lieutenant General Zoltán Mihócza, Chief of Staff, Hungarian Defence Forces Command (HDFC) received in his office Colonel Idan Katz, the new Israeli defence attaché taking office. During their discussion, the two sides reviewed the ongoing cooperation in the field of education and training, as well as the possibilities for the development of armed forces modernization.
