International cooperation in Újmajor

The Central Training and Shooting Range of the HDF Joint Forces Training Centre in Újmajor was recently teeming with Italian Centauro military vehicles and tanks, as well as Hungarian PzH howitzers, Leopard main battle tanks, drones and helicopters. The personnel of the NATO Forward Land Force Battle Group (NATO FLF BG) were training in the area between 30 June and 2 July.

Croatian-Hungarian Military Logistics Cooperation About to Begin

The delegation of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces’ Logistics Directorate arrived for a two-day visit in Hungary to create a foundation for long-term professional cooperation between the two nations. The geographic proximity, the joint involvement in NATO operations and the parallel armed forces development justify the discussion of the lessons learned. The two partners are planning to harmonize some of their standard operating procedures as well.

Today, there was a run not only in every HDF garrison town but also in each member state of the International Military Sports Council (CISM), said Colonel Dr. Zoltán Eleki, Deputy Head of the Defence Staff Training Directorate, on 18 February at the run held on the occasion of the CISM International Day of Military Sports on the athletics field of the Budapest Honvéd Sports Association.
Hungarian Defence Forces provide support to transiting Alliance forces

On 20 January at dawn, three British convoys arrived at the Rajka border crossing point. The personnel travelling to participate in the NATO Exercise Steadfast Dart 2025 in Romania are spending several days in Hungary. First, they are to be accommodated at the HDF 47th Air Base in Pápa, and then they will move on to Szentes.
Military Attachés at the Armoured Brigade

On 6 November the Budapest Military Attaché Corps (BMAC) visited Tata, the garrison town of one of the most dynamically developing units of the Hungarian Defence Forces. The HDF 1st Armoured Brigade received its guests with Gidrán, PzH and Leopard on display, and introduced them to the unit’s simulation centre.

“We’re planning a long-term cooperation program with the Ohio National Guard. Our reservists are highly motivated by the prospect of Hungarian soldiers participating in an exercise to be organized in the USA in 2026” – said Captain István Németh in emphasizing the significance of Exercise Valiant Panther 2024. The commander of the training company of the 83rd Territorial Defence Battalion of the HDF Klempa Kálmán 7th Territorial Defence Regiment was talking about the 10-day maneuvers being conducted on the Újdörögd shooting range.
